FIRST ROBOTICS

SPPS staff and students from Arlington, Humboldt, and Johnson attended the FIRST kickoff at the University of MN Coffman Union. This regional event was for schools with competing FIRST ROBOTICS teams to kick-off the competition event. During the kick-off, teams had a video shoot (that was included in the video broadcast), listened to a keynote speaker, viewed a kickoff video broadcast, received this year's competition challenge (including a chance to see a mockup of the game field), and picked up the FIRST ROBOTICS kit. The teams will begin the work of building a robot that will meet this year's challenges. Each team will compete at the MN Regional Competition that will be held at Williams Arena, March 27-29, 2008. SPPS FIRST ROBOTICS teams are funded by grants from 3M, Ecolab, Qwest, and the Carl D. Perkins Federal Grant.
